Supported options
Five minute preflight
Requirements
| Browsers | Current Chrome or Edge on computers and Chromebooks; current Safari, Chrome, or Edge on tablets and phones; Meta Quest Browser for headset VR. |
| Internet | Stable broadband capable of streaming a five minute 360 MP4. Test on the student network during the same part of the day the lesson will run. For larger classes, stagger starts or use device rotations. |
| Required domains |
|
| Network behavior | Allow HTTPS, JavaScript, WebGL, WebXR for Quest, MP4 files, byte-range requests, and cross-origin video playback from the approved R2 host. |
| Audio | Headphones are recommended for individual viewing. Use a teacher-controlled speaker for whole-class 360 viewing. |
| Privacy | Students do not create accounts and do not submit names or personal email addresses. They use a classroom code and teacher-assigned identifier. |
| Low bandwidth | Use smaller groups, staggered starts, interactive teacher-led viewing, the accessible scene guide, transcript framework, and printable materials. |
Troubleshooting
Update the browser, enable hardware acceleration, reload the page, and confirm the approved web-compatible video is being used.
Use Meta Quest Browser, select the red Start the VR Experience button with the controller, and avoid a separate browser-generated Enter VR control.
Close other streaming tabs, reduce simultaneous starts, move closer to the access point, and use the non-headset alternative when needed.
